Nursing Home Ministry
"Blessed is he who has regard for the weak; the LORD delivers him in times of trouble. The LORD will protect him and preserve his life; he will bless him in the land and not surrender him to the desire of his foes. The LORD will sustain him on his sickbed and restore him from his bed of illness." Psalm 41:1-3
The Nursing Home Ministry is a part of the “calling” of God that each individual believer should ask Jesus how they can be involved. Jesus went to the sick and afflicted shut-ins to heal and touch their lives.
This ministry has been functioning for 15 years at F.O.B with 39 or more volunteers involved at 10 different facilities. We are always in need of more volunteers to be able to relieve those who have been doing it over a long period of time. It would require about one and a half hours of time once a month. We ask that each volunteer commit for a 6 month period.
This is one of the greatest opportunities to become a servant, teacher, or minister to a people that are needing much love and encouragement. A member of a well-known ministry, Ray Boltz, began his ministry in a nursing home.
Ministry Needs
We are always in need of leader coordinators, who would need to be members of the church. Those people designated as coordinators will be responsible for conducting the meetings and having the nursing home staff announce the meeting over the loud speaker.
We are also in need of musical talent for our ministry time, as well as many other volunteers to help out with ministry and practical helps during our meetings.
