Native American Ministry
Newsletter
February 2008
Hello Friends and Family;
We hope that you are well and enjoy the blessings of the Lord in this New Year.
Getting our House in Order
In our last newsletter, I wrote about how the Lord had spoken to us to "get our house in order".
At that time, we thought He meant our physical house but it wasn't long before we realized that it was so much more. So, we have been busy following His voice in the area of getting our house in order. Please pray for us, the task is bigger than we had
first imagined "God is
able to do exceedingly abundantly more than we can ask or think" (Eph.
3:20).
Pow Wow Ministry
Here it is after the first of the year when we thought we would be back out on the Pow Wow trail. With so much more to do on our physical house, we had to seek the Lord on what to do about going back to this part of the ministry. After praying and talking about it, we felt that God would have us only go if we received an invitation. This was a step of faith because we have not received many invitations in the past. Well, two days after this decision was made the phone rang and we were invited to minister at the Mt. Dora Pow Wow in March. Two weeks later, the phone rang again and we were invited to minister at the Pow Wow in Vero Beach this month. God is so faithful!
Upcoming Gathering in Leesburg
We are preparing for our Third Annual Native American Gathering in Leesburg, FL. This is a conference for Native people and those who are interested in Native Ministry. We have sent out 200 invitations this year and are looking forward to what God will do in the hearts of those who will be attending. Our guest speakers are Dr. Igahliq Suuqiina (Inuit) and his wife Qaumaniq (Cherokee). The Suuqiinas have authored several books and are the co-founders of Indigenous Messengers International. If you would like to attend this conference please contact us for more information.
Native Church Meeting
Our bi-weekly Native church service has been going well. We had a record 63 people in attendance a couple of weeks ago and we just celebrated our 3rd anniversary.
Our worship team, Sacred Thunder Drum was invited to play at the Worship Festival in Sarasota in January. In March, we will again be singing and playing on our float in the Strawberry Festival parade in Plant City. We thank the Lord for the opportunities to reach out and to share the Native sounds of praise and worship to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Thank you for all you do in support of this ministry. We love and appreciate you all!
"We thank our God upon every remembrance of you" (Phil. 1:3).
